Weekend away!

This past weekend we went to Flagstaff and Sedona! We LOVED both, Flagstaff has a Boulder, Colorado feel to it - small, mountain, college town. Sedona was very cool also, but we were a bit disappointed in it, more commercialzed then we expected. They are currently expanding the 2 lane highway to at least a 4 lane, and has aton of tourist gift shops. But the area is soooo beautiful and the drive between Flag and Sedona - incredible a definite must see!
And we have a budding pianist!

Labor day weekend: Saturday: we went to Fossil Creek with some friends from Jamsons work. It was beautiful, we jumped off cliffs and swam in beautiful, cold, clean blue water, most rivers are either dry or red from the rains. We had to drive down into the canyon with very deep drop offs on one side and cliffs on the other, very awesome, my pictures cannot do justice, I am going to take a photo class soon in the valley (Phoenix) to fully utilize my camera, Julie shall I count you in? It was sunny and hot, and I think we all got a little bit of sunburn on our shoulders from being in the water all day. I'm sure when you all come out it will be a must see! Sunday we had friends from the valley come up, and just like the fourth of July when the came, we had bad weather, cool and rainy, but we went to Pine, which is a small town about 15 mile north of Payson. Then came back and grilled chicken burgers, and Jam made Seafood risotto, also, Christian and Ana came over for dinner. On Monday: it was still cool, but Morgan went to a friends house-Sadie, and Jam, Ash, Cams and I went out to Doll Baby Ranch Rd, and looked for the mine ruins, but didn't have the time for a 6 mile hike, (I had to be at work at 5 and Jam had worked in the am)we did hike for about 2 hours and have some great pics. Cam is ready to get back to regular naps, therefore so am I.

What's new!

June 2008: we left Grand Rapids for what turned out to be a 4 day trip to Payson! Miss Camille was not too happy in her car seat, so we switched often and ended up with long stops! Jamson drove the moving truck-which drank up the diesel$ and Sue drove the car-with finicky ac going through some very hot and humid states, which was a killer, (also the wiper blades gave out in a good downpour) Ashton, Morgan and Cami took turns in the different vehicles and helping with Cam. Finally we arrived in Payson to our palatial 1 room apt. (more like a hotel room) were we stayed for about a month and a half. Also we are in the monsoon season, we don't get much rain but when we do it comes down, and is so cool afterwards !

July 30th: Ash and Mo start school! Yeah they kinda got jipped of summer vacation, but we did drive across country, swam in river, and rode bikes in the mountains! Also, they get out of the one room for a few hours, Cam and I are jealous! Ashton started 6th grade-middle school! I can't believe he is so old, and acting it, Morgan started 3rd. Both love is-so far! They had attended VBS at the chuch we are going to - Mountain Bible - the second week we were here so they knew some kids from there, also a couple kids through people at Jamson's work. Ash had been riding Quads quite a bit with a couple guys. So they didn't go in blind, which made Mom feel better!
Sometime in July: we went to Tonto Natural Bridge, for a hike, God is truly awesome! The hike was hot but worth the view!

August 7th: we got our keys to the house!!!!:0 the kids went promtly to their rooms and we didn't see much of them for a few days, we all love our own space! A full kitchen, a grill ahh the luxuries! Big thing is we are trying to get Cam to sleep in her own room, by herself, since she was born she was in a room with us, so pray that she starts to sleep through the night, she goes to bed ok, but if she wakes up in the night it's a struggle! Oh for a full nights sleep! We have a new pet- a tarantula under a bush in the front yard. Comes out every night
